Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Launceston Airport morning arrival to Launceston City for a brief look before we head out to Bridport for lunch followed by a late afternoon sunset shoot at Bridstowe Lavendar Farms. If the evening is clear we may stay longer for a picnic dinner and some astrophotography.

Day 2 - Sunrise Shoot at Bridport pier is such a calm location. Locals have petitioned for many years to build a new port. I prefer this 100 + year old port. You will also discover nearby why Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links is rated as one of Australia’s best golf courses along a beach side walk. After breakfast we will pass through Pyngenna Dairy Far Cafe (Lunch) & Saint Columba Falls State Reserve for some waterfall photography. Next stop will Bay of Fires for a late afternoon shoot at Binalong Bay.

Day 3 - Bay Of Fires & Binalong Bay is such as serene and pristine oasis. Spending two days here will give us a great chance to really slow down and do lots of long exposures. A change of tides and variety of light will give us a chance to master composition. On our first night we will venture to grants point for an astrophotography shoot (weather permitting) and for our second sunset location.

Day 4 - In the Bay of Fires Conservation Area we will be up at the crack of dawn to capture our last chance for another sunrise from a different vantage point. On our way to Freycinet we will stop in at Bicheno for lunch and photograph the Bicheno Boulders. After a quick checkin we will prepare for our sunset shoot in Freycinet National Park

Day 4 - Freycinet National Park Afternoon/Sunset Shoot.  At Coles Bay in Freycinet National Park a sunset shoot in Honeymoon Bay is the perfect spot. Dinner in Coles Bay is always a treat with some wood fired pizzas and a Pinot Noir wine to compliment Tasmania’s best produce..

Day 5 - Sunrise Sleepy Bay - Good non slip shoes and a sturdy tripod work best in these situations. A little bit of climbing is involved but well worth the effort to wake up early. After breakfast we can have a nap till lunch time. After lunch for those interested in a 1.5 hour hike to Wineglass Bay Lookout are welcome to join. For those more interested in editing or resting they can stay in. Late afternoon shoot will take us to a different spot for sunet at Freycinet Lodge where we will also have dinner.

Astrophotography: Wherever we have a clear night and not much light pollution is where we need to shoot astrophotography.

Day 6 - Sleepy Bay Sunrise if the weather the day before did not deliver the sunrise we were hoping for then we will rise again early for our last chance. If we nailed a great shot then we will have a choice to go back at a slightly different vantage point. After breakfast we will check out for a leisurely drive back to Launceston via Ross. Ross is arguably the finest nineteenth century village in Australia. Cobble-style paths and grand old elm trees line the main street, while the Ross Bridge, Australia's third oldest bridge still standing, is possibly the most beautiful of its kind left in the world.
