South East Tasmania Photo Tours
Explore the best of Tasmania’s South East. Choose from Autumn or Spring. Alfonso will be your photo tutor, driver and tour-guide. I love teaching photography especially landscape photography in my favourite Australian state. If you like waking up early for a sunrise and editing your photos at breakfast, this is the perfect learning adventure. Focus on Lightroom, Photoshop and Nik software for editing. Even though I am Canon and Fujifilm user, I am also familiar with all other camera types. All my customers I mentor for life. It’s such a fun journey learning and growing as a photographer to express the language of visual communication.

Day 1 - Tessellated Pavement in Eagle Hawk Neck will be our base for two nights. We will explore on day drives Port Arthur and Cape Raoul. Great walks along the Tasman Arch and Devils walk to look down the coastline.
Day 2 - Tessellated Pavement sunrise will be conveniently located in front of our accomodation. Just a short walk down to the beach.
We will have another chance to shoot on Day 3 if the weather does not accomodate. After breakfast and short break, we will go on a 2 hour boat trip. For $100 they will take us along the impressive coastline of Tasman National Park between Eaglehawk Neck and Cape Hauy, part of the new ‘Three Capes Track’. Look out for rare sea birds, fins or blows. Dolphins and Albatrosses are a common sight on our trips. Southern Right and Humpback Whales migrate past the coastline between the months of June and December.
Our sunset location will take us to Dunalley and some other nearby locations.
Day 3 - Sunrise Tessellated Pavement - Last chance to get a better shot before we head to Mt. Field National Park for some waterfalls and funghi photography. On our way to Russell Falls we will stop in at the historic village of Richmond for lunch. After lunch we will head to Russell Falls for a look at shooting Horseshoe Falls as well.
Day 4 - Drive to New Norfolk & Russell Falls at Mt. Field National Park. In Autumn the poplar trees go a canary yellow colour. The moss and fungi are plentiful so a macro lens can come in handy for those close up shots in the deep forest or caves.
Day 5 - Horseshoe Falls morning shoot, Mt. Field National Park. Late Afternoon Departure to Hobart Airport or you can choose to stay the night in Hobart. To finish our last shot will be a short hike up to the falls and streams. The cascading ferns and emerald green moss will be our final re-charge. We will have lunch in New Norfolk at the Patchwork Cafe which is located in the old Mental Hospital grounds. It is currently a car graveyard with loads of antique industrial archeology. From rusty tractors to skeleton trucks you will have find something interesting to photograph.
