This job is a mix of all my past jobs. I used to be an English, Japanese and Spanish speaking tour-guide in Sydney, taught English in Tokyo and a Professional Photographer for the last 20 + years.
Specialising in People and Places as a travel photographer with a strong focus on landscapes in rural areas and street portraits and night-scapes in urban areas.

HISTORY
Director/Owner Photographer Alfonso Calero started Australian Photography Tours in 2008 with the aim of teaching locals and tourists travel photography.
ABOUT Photo Tours
Located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Tasmania all of my staff and myself deliver regular Saturday afternoon or night photography walks/courses to suit all levels of experience. Private lessons also available for groups or individuals.
Using the outdoor classroom as our learning environment we explore the technical capabilities of your camera to capture some creative ideas.
Choose from a Smartphone (iphone or android - Samsung & Google Pixel) or DSLR/Mirror-Less Camera Course. If you are really keen you can join me, Alfonso on one of my photo tours in Tasmania, The Philippines, Japan, Spain or the Faroe Islands.

All my staff and myself are passionate about passing on our technical and creative ideas to help and inspire our love for travel photography.

Ritsuko
Born and raised in Tokyo. Married to Alfonso for 29 years. Admin Assistant/researcher for the company as well as Japan Photography Tours' assistant/interpreter aka "Sheepdog," always watching our customers' safety during the busy photo shoots.
Aside from this work, she is an education tour guide in Sydney. Ritsuko has been running excursion programs to teach Australian school children history and archaeology for 15 years.
She is also a Sumi-e (Japanese ink painting) artist and a qualified origami instructor. Loves mobile photography and editing.
Melbourne -
Paul
Based in Melbourne, Paul has over twenty years working as a photographer. His work encompasses musicians, portraits, lifestyle, food, still life, interiors and architecture. Paul's work has been widely published both locally and internationally.
Patrick - Adelaide
Patrick specialises in photography and cinematography, as well as venturing into the realms of spoken word and fiction writing. He enjoys stand-up comedy, classical and contemporary musical performance, and whatever you're doing with a pipe organ.
Melbourne - Luke
Luke is an award-winning Melbourne based photographer specialising in travel, landscapes, urbanscapes, and business photography. Luke’s passion is to communicate stories through photography, to ask questions and to take the viewer on a journey.
Tania - Melbourne
Tania is a Melbourne based photographer who's diverse and simplistic style has enabled her to capture Weddings, performances, beautiful landscapes and timeless portraits.
She enjoys the challenge of every photoshoot and is constantly in search of images that either tell a story or evoke emotion for the viewer.
Brisbane - James
Diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging, reinforcing and growing those fundamentals into skills I've used in my own commercial photography including but not limited to event, product and illustrative photoshoots.
Fremantle,
Peter
Peter combines his freelance photographic work with teaching photography part time at his studio at the J Shed. His interests are fine art landscape photography and alternative cityscape art photography. He is also very interested in history and is currently researching and exploring the family’s Croatian heritage through the medium of photography. I love to pass on my passion in Fremantle my hometown.
Spain -
Jaime
Madrid based lifestyle photographer with over 30 years experience. Specialising in food, interiors, portraits and travel related imagery. Jaime is Alfonso’s cousin which makes for the perfect travel companion.
